Would you change factions?

Perhaps it's a little surprising I havn't posted sooner on this new announcement Blizzard has made.  After all, rerolling to a different faction has completely changed my "wow life."

First Stage:  Shock and Denial

When I first head the news on vent, I was in disbelief.  After all, I've rerolled to horde and have been re-building up my little kingdom.  Why would Blizzard do such a thing!  It can't be there must be something mistaken.  But the change seems to be coming whether I like it or not.  They've announced a Q&A (linked above) for this decision so it's looking like the development is happening.

Second Stage:  Anger

So I decide that because Blizzard doesn't want cross faction xfers, I get to spend all that time and money (monthly fee, and new account) in order to play with my friends on horde.  And then Blizzard decides they're going to backstab me and make xfers available?  Not only did I leave behind friends, but levels, gear, items, pets, titles, achivements, professions, flight paths (because yes it does take a lot of time to get all the flight paths).  I left behind my vanilla wow pvp titles, I left behind Tier sets including T0.5, arena sets, T3 shoulders and weapons.  I left my NE druid for a cow.  And let me guess, Blizzard isn't going to compensate for that.

Third Stage:  Bargaining

If Blizzard would just kindly bump up my horde chars accordingly to the chars that I had leveled to 70 on Alliance side, I would really appreciate it.  Gah can you understand what it's like to not have lifebloom after having had lifebloom?  Can you understand what it's like not to have PoM after having had PoM?  What it's like to be fully geared then having to start from the bottom up?  Would Blizzard kindly re-level my professions for me?  I've leveled enchanting and tailoring 3 times, and all the rest twice.  Oh and my mounts please.  I would like the drake mount on my new warlock.

Fourth Stage:  Acceptance

I know that my alliance characters would probably hate me if I turned them into horde.  I also know that there are some memories that can never be translated into a different faction.  I like being able to look at my alliance characters the way they were.  Every now and then I enable my alliance account and revisit my characters.  It's nice to say hi to my alliance friends, and run around in my old school gear.  The look and feel are different.  I have a more satisfying profession set up now as well.  Having herbalism on my druid is great.  I don't have to unmount in order to pick up a herb.  In fact, I don't even have to shift out.  Will I be cross-xfering the alliance chars higher than my current horde chars?  Probably not.  I like my current set up, and I would have to pay to move a character off this account in order to move one on to it.  There is too much paying involved, and I already pay enough for this game.  With that money I could renew my Alliance account another time around.

I have to admit, this is one service I doubt I'll be using - I just don't find any horde races as aesthetically pleasing as female dwarves. (Plus all my characters are alliance side on a single server - I don't have the social network to justify changing any of them)
