Granted, people don't level a character of each class at the same time, heirlooms are useful hand-me-down gear that can be utilized over multiple characters and classes. The problem is, when an alt-aholic like me enjoys spontaneously picking a class to play. The joy of logging on, seeing ten different classes I can play from! I can pick depending on what type of class-style I feel like playing that day. For a while I thought I must be the only abnormal being that tries to "waste time on all those alts." But I found someone yesterday that had a level 70+ character for each class. So ha!

So going back to heirlooms. It's a little better now that my warlock has hit 80. The only two classes I share Tattered Dreadmist Mantle on are my priest and my mage. I should probably be thankful that I can even mail it back and forth to begin with! After all, I can use it for 80x3 levels! But when I log my mage, quest up a level and get half a level running an instance and then suddenly realize I'm missing my heirloom shoulders, I can't help but cringe. Skydrop le sighs at you. What kind of thoughtless owner are you, she sighs. I've been leveling 30 beautiful blue rested bars, do you realize how much xp you've made me miss out on?
This is when I just feel like going and buying another pair of heirloom shoulders so I won't have to deal with relogging the alt that has the shoulders and mailing it back and logging. Especially when I'm on my [insert dps class here] and I see a "LF1M Heals [insert lowbie instance here] g2g." I quickly log off and get on my [insert healing class here] to find that I left my heirlooms on my mage. Or when I log my little pally tank
only to realize that my 1H sword is on my rogue and the spell power trinket is on my mage.
But I try to hold back, because after all, the heroic badges can be used for buying more beneficial things like gems and such. I already have one of those heirlooms and the worth of the heirloom will only be at it's max if I use it on every possible character, right? But, but! No buts. Keep relogging and mailing Ruby.
